About BSS PTO

The mission of the Bridge St. School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is to help enhance our school community by 1. Raising funds for supplies, resources and opportunities that are not provided for by the school budget 2. Hosting community-building events for families and staff and 3. Ensure we include all students and increase equity through our activities.

Your donations to the PTO supports our teachers, kids and the school community! We try to raise $10,000 per year to spend on:

Classroom Resources: We reimburse and buy items so teachers don’t spend their own money on classroom supplies such as disinfectant wipes, single serve snacks, art supplies, and special materials they think will enhance their teaching.

Inclusion Support: Our School Counselors come to us when they encounter students who need clothing or other basic needs for their homes or families, especially after a crisis.

Field Trips: We subsidize the cost of field trips, to ensure all students are able to attend.

Playground and Specials: We pay for items Specials teachers and the Playground need to improve their spaces.

Community Events: We host events throughout the year to bring our school community together, including Picnics, Open House, Science Fair and Field Day.

Staff Appreciation: The PTO makes sure our teachers and staff feel our love and support, sometimes by providing breakfast or lunch. The PTO also renovated the Staff Lounge and keeps it well stocked with coffee so our staff have a relaxing place to recharge.

If you can, please support our teachers and students through a tax-deductible donation to the PTO. You can donate online, or make a check payable to "Bridge Street School PTO" and send it to the BSS office.

Just as important as donating is volunteering your time. There are many opportunities for caregivers to get involved each year. If you're interested in volunteering, contact us!
